KZN Philharmonic Orchestra Visit

On Friday 2 November TWC Junior School were treated to a wonderful concert by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra. The Atrium was buzzing with activity while the Orchestra was setting up and there was much excitement.

The KZNPO have an Education and Development Programme, which aims to educate children on live orchestral playing and the different instrument families and how they sound. Their performance of ‘Peter and the Wolf’ by Sergei Prokofiev was wonderfully narrated and the girls were entertained from beginning to end.

We were thrilled to be introduced to Kirsten Sayers, a TWC Old Girl who started playing in Miss Theron’s Wind Ensemble many years ago and is now playing her clarinet as a permanent member of the Orchestra.
