Grade 7s designing computer games

This term the Grade 7’s are using Hopscotch (a coding application) to create their own games.

Later this term, the games will be tested and adjudicated by the Grade 5 girls.

The girls are working really hard and are loving the problem-solving aspect of game design. Seeing the joy on their faces when they fix a 'bug' in a chunk of code is most rewarding.

Junior School hold Chess Week

The first Chess Week for Grades 1 and 2 was held earlier this month.

The older girls from our Chess Club spent tea times teaching the Grade 1 and 2s how to play chess. They had fun learning about each piece and how it moves.

Then on Friday, the girls came to school dressed up as a chess piece and enjoyed chess cupcakes.

On Friday evening we held our annual family chess evening in the library which was attended by a large number of girls with their family and friends. It was definitely a checkmate for the game of Chess!

Farewell to the Grade 12s of 2018

It hardly seems possible that another year has flown past and we are saying goodbye to the Grade 12s of 2018 following their Valedictory Communion this morning.

All they have left are those 'pesky' final examinations.

Wishing them all the very best for their exams and every success and happiness for the future.

Go "Forward in Faith".
