Senior School Inter-House Plays

This term the Grade 11 Drama pupils were given the opportunity to produce and direct their own plays and compete in an Inter-House Play Competition. The full responsibility of the productions fell on their shoulders and they rose to meet the challenge with high spirits and determination.

During this time the girls learnt many skills such as directing, choreographing and set design, as well as learning the importance of organisation and time management. The respective houses (Crookes, Moore, Campbell and O’Brien) each produced lively and thought provoking plays in varying genres.

Crookes House presented The Careerist, directed by Anele Dlamini, a comic story about several doctor’s visits gone horribly wrong.

Rhythm and Rhyme directed by Erin Muirhead of Moore House took the audience on a journey through the ages and showcased a unique perspective on the story of the creation of the universe.

Campbell House chose to explore the line between heaven and hell in Tracks directed by Caitlin van der Velden.

And O’Brien House had the audience in stitches with Peter Pan Goes Wrong directed by Aimée le Sueur.

Congratulations to Moore House on being awarded first place and thank you to the TWC community who supported the girls throughout this tough but fun and rewarding process.

Junior School Grandparents Day

Girls from Grade RRR to Grade 3 entertained their Grandparents on Thursday in a concert entitled “Ben and Grandma and Grandpa and the whole wide world”.

There was a lovely balance of song, recital and dance and the girls thoroughly enjoyed sharing their talent with their grandparents.

Grandparents then visited the classrooms and enjoyed viewing their granddaughter’s school work.
