Out of the Hat… – News from the Lady Principal

Welcome to Term 3
Welcome back to the start of Term 3 and a special welcome to families who are new to the school. We also welcome Mrs Bennett back from maternity leave, and Ms Megan Hamilton who joins us in the Consumer Studies Department. Ms Hamilton will also be the class teacher for Grade 8B.

Holiday News
While many of us were relaxing during the holiday, there were several girls and staff involved in inter-provincial activities as well as the World Choir Games. The World Choir Games provided a wonderful opportunity for the girls, one that many of them will never experience again, and they did themselves, and the school, proud. The choir achieved outstanding results (a silver and a bronze) in the Champions Competition section of the Games, the most challenging section to enter. Thank you to the parents who were able to support the various events.

The Grade 11s left for their leadership camp at Nyala Pans on Thursday and the Grade 10s will continue their preparation for their Formal Dance in August. Grade 9s will have their Business of the Year Awards on Saturday. The Grade 12 girls, in their various committees, have organised a Variety Show which will take place next Thursday evening.

The building of the new guard house, as well as the widening of the driveway, is nearly complete, and I apologise for any inconvenience caused at the start of the term.

I am looking forward to a productive term and hope girls make the most of the opportunities provided.

Sue Tasker
Lady Principal
