Out of the Hat... - News from the Junior School Headmistress

Term 1 has been a wonderfully productive one as we have
witnessed growth in so many areas for our girls. Our RRRs have settled into a happy routine and are enjoying the stimulating environment.

Success is not only achieved through winning, but also through the acquisition of new skills. Winning the A Gala for the 21st consecutive year was wonderful as was winning all our tennis matches. However, learning to swim and play tennis for the first time, is equally memorable and important. A number of our girls made the KZN tennis team and Midlands swimming team.

It was gratifying listening to our Junior and Senior choirs, wind band and string ensemble and individual performers at the concert this week. Being able to offer the opportunity for girls to perform and develop strengths, encourages the girls to believe in themselves.

Our Kids Lit Quiz team enjoyed participating in the National Finals in Johannesburg. They represented TWC well and we are very proud of them.

Much learning takes place outside of the classroom, and I am very grateful to the staff for organising and accompanying our girls on overnight and day trips.

I hope you found the teacher interviews valuable. Full reports will be written at the end of Term 2.

Enjoy a blessed and happy Easter with your girls.

Karen Gardner
Junior School Headmistress
