TWC U14 Netball team takes on the best in South Africa

On Thursday 3 August a very excited TWC U14 netball team travelled to Johannesburg to participate in SASN (South African Schools’ Netball) National Championships.

For the girls to qualify for this championship they had to finish in the top two places in KZN. For some of the girls it was the first time participating at an event of this size. The “gazebo village” took up almost an entire rugby field, with 150 teams from U14 to U18 descending on Hoerskool E.G Jansen.

The girls were very excited to get the opportunity to meet the SA Netball Captain, Bongiwe Msomi seen in the pic above with the girls and coach, Miss Segal.

Matches started at 8am and ten courts ran nonstop until 5pm. The excitement was contagious and the girls enjoyed the nonstop netball action. On the court, the team fought hard and showed alot of character improving every match and they never backed down even when they came up against some big tough girls.

We would like to thank all the parents for supporting their daughters and keeping them motivated throughout the tournament. The girls came back proud and ready to take on the next chapter of their netball journey.
